Sessional Teaching Opportunities 2008The Department of Accounting and Finance are seeking sessional teaching staff for opportunities to join our team of Academics in 2008. It is anticipated that you will have significant experience in different areas of Accounting & Finance, an enthusiastic communicator and have a passion in your area of knowledge. It is essential that you hold an Undergraduate Degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline and we will look favourably upon a postgraduate degree. Sessional staff may be required to teach or lecture in either undergraduate or postgraduate units. Sessional staff are also required to take part in grading/marking of assignments and possibly exams. All Sessional staff are required to undertake a Faculty run four-hour training session as part of their induction to the Department and University. Training comprises three hours devoted to relevant general topics such as teaching policies and procedures, plagiarism, classroom management and one hour of specific departmental information. The Department of Accounting and Finance has become the largest department of Accounting and Finance in Australia. We are a department that has earned our reputation largely through offering high quality and leading edge programs. We also enjoy a vibrant research culture and have strong links with professional bodies the business community. The Department has approximately 110 academic staff and 30 professional staff.
