Professor Graciela Chichilnisky

The Department is pleased to announce that Professor Graciela Chichilnisky  has been appointed as a Sir Louis Matheson Distinguished Visiting Professor.  Professor Chichilnisky will be providing advocacy, research and collaboration at the interface of climate change, energy, economics and finance.  She will also assume the responsibilities of Executive Director and Convenor of the Monash Climate 2012 later in 2008.

Professor Chichilnisky holds the UNESCO Chair of Mathematics and Economics and is a Professor of Statistics at Columbia University. She is also the Director of Columbia Consortium for Risk Management (CCRM). Add a link to the biostatement on her webpage.

A tenured professor at Columbia since 1979, she has been Director of its Program on Information and Resources since its founding in 1994. She taught previously at Harvard, Essex and Stanford Universities.
